Twenty years ago, when Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stonewas first released on screen, little did we know what a sensation the movie series would turn out to be. The first movie based on J K Rowling’s best-selling book series spun a tale of magic and mystery. But it also bore the weight of high expectations and unmatched excitement. Actors, too, had to bear this weight. Ralph Fiennes, who played the role of Voldemort in the movie series, is opened up about his experience on Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.

In a promo video, Ralph revealed how his family reacted when he was offered the villain’s role. He said, “My sister has children who were then 10, 11 and 12. I said, ‘Have you heard about this Voldemort?’ ” Repeating what the children told him back then, the actor said, “What? You are being asked to play Voldemort? You’ve got to do it.”

So, it’s like, it wasn’t though.”

“It feels like no time has passed and a lot of time has passed,” said Emma Watson as she reminisced her role as Hermione Granger. She continued, “When things get really dark and times are really hard, there’s something about Harry Potter that makes life richer.”

“I’ve missed the perfect time to sit down with everyone and reminisce,” said Rupert Grint, who played the role of Ron Weasley. He went on to add, “We are family and we will always be part of each other’s lives.”

Helena Bonham Carter recollected, “One of the highlights of my part was when I had to pretend to be Hermione pretending to be Bellatrix.” The actress also brought the dentures that she wore for her role and gladly put them on during the reunion.
